Working together, a process chain was developed to organise complex processes in a cost-favourable solution: the coating of awkwardly-shaped fine cast parts for the aircraft sanitary system and for the aircraft fuel supply is achieved in an optimal manner with several surface finishing procedures on a single component.

BWB solution

The parts are sent to Nehlsen-BWB after the first mechanical machining stage for the first surface treatment. Adapted to the downstream machining stages, this surface treatment is carried out, after which the part is returned to the customer for the second mechanical machining cycle. At the end of machining, the components are delivered for a second surface treatment. The procedure lowers costs and makes it possible to treat complex geometries with more than one protection system per component.
