Where there is undesired damage, faults or irregularities in a surface, we recommend a mechanical pre-treatment, depending on the material and the subsequent surface treatment procedure. The surface finish ranges from matt to fully polished, as preferred.
We would be happy to advise on a suitable pre-treatment.
- Grinding/Grinding-brushing
- Brushing/scotching
- Polishing
- Sandblasting (cleaning, removing loose materials, compacting)
- Vibratory grinding
Chemical pre-treatments
Metal surfaces cannot simply be treated chemically, electrochemically or using electroplating without prior preparation. Contaminations, oxides or processing marks must be removed in a chemical pre-treatment. A clean surface on the work piece is a precondition for an even and stable surface finish.
Which chemical treatments are required? Ask your BWB customer advisor.
- Degreasing
- Etching/ Matt etching
- Chemical polishing
- Electrolytic polishing
- Cleaning of vacuum components
