Man and machine: A perfect symbiosis for anodising

While the process for creating technical coatings such as Heloxal or Harteloxal PTFE is completely automated, the human manual skills are systematically employed when it comes to applications with high-quality visual elements.

More and more customers are asking for the E7 'chemical polished' finish in order to give aluminium components a dazzling metallic shine. But the surface quality is critically dependent on the gloss process, which needs to be perfectly tailored to the components' geometry. In the new gloss-crafting method, man takes precedence over machine. At a handover station, the fully automated system provides the components to the surface specialists for treatment. These specialists skilfully perform the pre-treatment, before the substrate is returned to the automated anodising process. The end result is a perfect surface with maximum process reliability.
