The KSSG's (St.Gallen cantonal hospital) replacement building 10 is part of this multi-stage construction process 'come together'. The aluminium shell of the bronze six-storey building was anodised in BWB-Colinal 3165. The colour scheme of the classically rear-ventilated aluminium-sheet façade is geared around the KSSG's existing buildings. The architect describes the new structure as elegant, functional and timeless.
'Given its size, the hospital complex is virtually a district in its own right – and that is extremely challenging, from both an operational and urban-planning perspective', says architect Fawad Kazi, describing the difficulties of the project.
