Located in the heart of the city of Neumarkt, the Schlossbad is a water park that bathers can enjoy all year round, and the four seasons that come with permanent facility use are also reflected in the façade.
The translucent metal curtain enveloping the first floor is made up of 270 individual façade elements that have been shaped into a stylised geometric wave using the world's largest fluid press, before then being anodised by BWB in Permagreen. 'Anodised aluminium boasts a number of qualities,' says Oliver Fielitz, CEO of Fielitz GmbH in Ingoldstadt. 'Among other things, it is durably colour-fast, easy to clean and is fully recyclable even after ten years of use', he adds.
The shades that vary from yellowish to bluish-green, coupled with the intense shadow effect, deliberately enhance the panels' subtle design and bring the façade to life, while the evergreen Permagreen finish playfully reflects the changing lights and weathers as the seasons shift from spring to summer to autumn to winter.
