After ten years of planning and construction, the new building of Winterthur Cantonal Hospital was completed at the beginning of 2022. Winterthur Cantonal Hospital is one of the ten largest hospitals in Switzerland. The new building will ensure long-term health care for the region.

The new building has a floor area of 61,000 m² and is visible from afar. High-quality materials were chosen for visually appealing integration into the surroundings. The building impresses with a lightweight travertine façade, anodised aluminium in the color Permalux P2, and generous glass surfaces that provide an unrestricted view over Winterthur.

With its sustainable construction method, the KSW was the first hospital in the canton of Zurich to be certified with the Minergie-P-Eco label, testifying to a particularly ecological and sustainable construction method.
