Materialization in harmony with nature

The choice of materials played a central role in the Winkelhaus, as it contributes significantly to the desired connection between architecture and landscape. A key element of this tectonics are the large windows, whose aluminium frames were finished using the high-quality permabronze anodizing process. The resulting surface is not only UV-resistant and particularly homogeneous in terms of color, but also picks up the autumnal nuances of the adjacent forest with its warm bronze tone. The frames thus integrate harmoniously into the overall material concept and strengthen the subtle dialog between the sculptural exposed concrete structure and the natural surroundings.

When I first entered the property in autumn, I was immediately fascinated by the colors of the leaves. With Permabronze, we were able to capture exactly this mood.”

Architecture in dialog with landscape and space

The Winkelhaus is characterized by an architecture that consistently continues the context and spatial references. The curved shape opens the building up to the forest and the topographical line of the slope, allowing the interior to merge seamlessly with the landscape. This idea is continued in the choice of materials: the warm bronze tone of the anodized aluminium frames is not only found in the façade, but also in selected elements inside. This creates a subtle connection between the exterior and interior, which reinforces the tectonic clarity of the building. The interior – characterized by bright surfaces and precisely placed details – directs the view outside and makes the changing moods of the surroundings perceptible in the daily experience.
