Procedure
Thanks to standardized product carrier sizes and optimized processes, our customers benefit from short throughput times and high process reliability. Sector 9 combines six electroplating processes on one line:
– Copper
– Bright nickel
– Electroless nickel
– Zinc (blue)
– Silver
– Gold
This range enables not only individual processes, but also multi-stage coating processes. For example, a layer of alkaline copper can be applied to zinc die-cast parts as a barrier layer and adhesion promoter before a functional coating such as nickel, silver or gold follows. The system thus covers a wide range of applications for technical requirements – from corrosion protection to electrical conductivity.

Pretreatments
High-quality electroplating starts with optimum pre-treatment. This is ideally tailored to the respective substrates such as steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and die-cast zinc.
An optimized rinsing system significantly reduces water consumption and thus contributes to resource-saving and environmentally friendly production without compromising on quality.
Internal resources
The construction of Sector 9 was largely realized using internal expertise within the BWB Group: EMO Plastic, as part of BWB, designed the plastic tanks and also took care of the assembly and piping on site. The ground work was carried out by the Rudolfstetten maintenance team.
This internal value creation not only ensures an efficient project process, but also facilitates the future maintenance and further development of the plant – quickly, flexibly and with first-hand technical expertise.
