Multicolor Anodising

Multicolor anodizing enables the creation of multicolored surface effects such as colour gradients and patterns. It is a manual, artisanal process that is created in close collaboration with our customers. This is how we develop unique, high-quality surfaces for sophisticated products and art objects.

Unique in color and texture

Each multicolor anodized workpiece is unique. The manual, artistic process creates color gradients, transitions and patterns that can never be exactly repeated. The combination of manual work, material properties and electrochemical precision makes each piece a unique object – individually tailored to the vision of the designer or artist.

Salutary Failures

At the Salutary Failures art project, artist Raphael Hefti and Julius Baer provided fascinating insights into his collaboration with BWB. Works that combine industrial processes and artistic experiments are created in the anodizing plants. Between chemical reactions, light reflections and material transformations, it becomes clear how precise technology becomes a stage for artistic discoveries. Hefti's project Salutary Failures makes visible that anodized aluminium goes far beyond function - towards a living, constantly changing surface.
