Aluminium in architecture

Aluminium offers maximum design freedom for sophisticated architecture. Individual profile shapes and designs can be developed quickly and cost-effectively. Aluminium components can be dismantled by type and recycled with virtually no loss. The low specific weight of aluminium relieves the load on the supporting structure and significantly reduces the installation effort compared to other facade materials - for more lightness in architecture.

Anodising aluminium

Anodised surfaces of BWB not only act on the surface, they change in depth. The refined immersion processes give the base material, aluminium, lasting and reliable protection. Whether colourless or in one of the many colour shades – anodised surfaces of BWB remain intact and effective for decades. Even large formats can be individually realised with it. This opens up an exceptionally wide range of possible applications – both in facade design and in the interior.

The advantages of anodised aluminium

  • protects against weather influences in the long term
  • preserves the metallic aluminium character
  • available in a wide range of colour shades
  • enables aesthetic light reflections
  • Offers attractive surface textures by brushing and grinding
  • Reduces the care and maintenance effort
  • conserves resources: degradable by type and 100% recyclable

A magical process

When anodising aluminium, the natural oxidation of the surface is specifically influenced to create a robust protective layer. This protective layer consists exclusively of oxygen and aluminium, is transparent and preserves the authentic character of the base material.
The oxide layer can also be coloured without losing its metallic character.

Color Collection

Aluminium surfaces as concept-defining elements of current building culture: With the Color Collection 01 and 02, building envelopes outside the common standard can be realised. Order today a Color Collection with four assorted anodised surfaces or your individual color selection of sample sheets in A4 format.
