With nearly 20 participants, this year’s learning modules were in high demand. In addition to theory, the program also includes topic-related plant tours. “The plant tours combine the vividly conveyed theory with the reality of the working world. I can highly recommend the training, especially for career changers,” says Heidi Riebli, who works in work preparation at BWB-Betschart AG in Stans.
On the first day of training, Aluminium Laufen AG opened its doors and provided insights into the production of castings and aluminum profiles. The heat of the smelting furnaces, in which scrap aluminum is turned into new material, left no one unimpressed.
The forging hammers from Imbach & CIE also left a lasting impression: Here, metal blanks are formed into components under enormous force. As part of Module 2 “Forming and semi-finished product production”, these insights into the industrial plant in Nebikon complemented the theory.
